David Fincher just won best director for Social Network which was a nice surprise - Thought Hooper would win Kings Speech. Was hoping for either Aronofsky or Fincher.

Sorkin won for best adapted screenplay.
They won for best editing.

Didn't win best film though...

Portman won best actress quite rightly for Black Swan.

Roger Deakins won for best cinematography - True Grit.

I was going to stop watching after the first couple of awards as I thought it was going to be dominated by Kings Speech. Although I did like the film most of the other films were superior in my opinion. Pissed that Reznor didn't get even a nom for Social Network - def oversight, also surprised when I heard the nominations a while back that Tron didn't get a mention in anything. The thing was flawed granted but it was also flooring too.

I was very underwhelmed by True Grit but still thought it was a truly great film.

Must say I really loved Deakins cinematography on True Grit. Nothing overtly flashy, but from the opening scene it really set the tone of the film in a way that for me was very authentic as to time and place.

I'm a massive fan of Roger Deakins and the Coen Brothers anyway. I thought Skeletons by Nick Whitfield should of been rewarded with Debut by a British Writer / Director / Producer, however I did like Four Lions but really disappointed that Andrew Garfield didn't get the Orange Rising Star Award.
