  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Finally Cut Server!!!!

Fancy giving ua a quick overview of the big hits in your opinion Mark?

What's it gonna do for us that FCP don't?!

Cheers man,
Dom.

Yes Mark, an other great tool from our friends at Apple, and this is why I didn't wanted to go the Avid route, Apple is always bringing us new S$#@!!!

Ciao
I am going to just say this -

This is GAME CHANGING software for post production -

You will be blown away!

Soon -

But FCP is an NLE. FCS is asset management and workflow automation.

Automation = LOTS of work while you sleep = happy clients = better quality of life

So doesn't this answer the question of Apple's committment to furthering pro production tools?

Yes in deed I fill that is going to be so!

Now with RED on hand I'm prepared to jump head on in to a complete new world of Post-production and I hope it is not too late to learn, so much that there is to learn.

I should take a week and stay in NY, help out and learn.

But one thing for sure Mark, can't wait for this event at NAB, the time spent cooking the few delicacy that I'll be bringing, will be very well compensated, not only by the pleasure of meeting many of my friends and fellow REDUSERS, but by the Tone of information that will be given by fellow members like you.

Ciao

Avid Unity? Ouch, that hurt! The Final Cut Server Client on PC. That's a sweet move.

Just an FYI

Apple's Richard Townhill will do the "first public demo of Final Cut Server" at the SuperMeet, April 16. So if Servers are in your fantasies, come to the SuperMeet. Only about 200 tickets left although there is a ton of standing room.

And Ted and Red will be there too.

Some facts:

1. It's a year late.

2. Alienbrain has been doing an awful lot of what this product does for at least 3 years.

3. Avid Interplay has been doing at least some of what this does for over a year.

I'm not saying this isn't typically Apple-slick. It is. But I do wish people wouldn't blindly give Apple credit for originality when it's not necessarily deserved.

I give them ZERO credit for originality.

I give them LOTS of credit for execution.

I'd put this product up against Alienbrain anyday Mike.

Hey I'm glad it's finally out... but as for execution? They bought this product from another company a over year ago and announced last year at NAB it would be available shortly, right? I'm pretty sure I was sitting in the crowd when they were showing it and Color off.

I'm still not convinced we're not going to wake up one day in the next year to find Pro Apps sold. Not that I have a problem with that. I'd kinda like to see it. Look at what The Foundry has done with Nuke.

Apple is an iPhone / Itunes company now and everything else is second fiddle. And rightfully so.
