Well pretty neat.. everything works..

Drop the R3D file into a watch folder.. copies it to the Library and creates a H264 at H or M whatever you drop in.

Edit Proxies are prorez H or M ..

So getting there... only issue is.. with the _H.mov 2k the thumbnail jpg it creates first is like just 2 channels flattened or something... the h264 is fine.

Even tagging the QT ref as HiQuality first works a treat..

**Edit.. Update... icons in osx finder are also the same.. mostly white with a channel subtracted.

Anyone else having a go ?

Cheers

SI

yeah ... FCS doesn't support r3d yet.

Sure, you can drag a QT reference file in and get "some" results - it's not what I want.

I want FCS to support the R3d filetype just like it support other filetypes.

It would make QTs, thumbnails direct from R3d AND extract ALL the meta-data goodies.

There is only one question here - who will do it first.
Apple?
Red?
Or some code-crazed Red Rebel like Ian Bloom.

API is still a bit "rough" in FCS - at least for my brian.

thanks Mark . That clear some of it up. Agree red file is worth waiting for just having a play with how we will use FCS. Still wierd how it and OSX 10.5.3 craps out with thumbnails on 2k qt but not on 1k :/

Thanks again

Si
