Since installing QT 3.5, the green frame rendering issue seems to be fixed, but now Final Cut is very prone to crashing when working with the proxies. In particular playing a file will usually initiate either a sudden quitting of FCP or a very long beach ball that will sometimes eventually go away unfreezing the app... until I play again. The files play fine in Quicktime and scrubbing in Final Cut is fine too. All the R3D's respond this way, so I don't think it's one clip.

Any recommendations on troubleshooting further? Thanks for the help.

-Josh.

Specs:
QT 7.5.5, OSX 10.5.5, FCP 6.0.4, QT component 3.5, build 16 footage
3GHz Octo-Mac, 14GB RAM

I had the exact opposite experience with my Macbook pro. Before QT codec 3.5 it was impossible to cut anything B16. After installing it, it's as if i cut DV with the _M proxies. The workflow is a dream now.

Specs:
QT Version 7.5.5 (249.13), OSX 10.5.5, FCP 6.0.4, QT component 3.5, Build 16 footage
2.6 MacBook pro, 4GB RAM

Thanks for the input.

Recreated the proxies to no avail.
No spaces in file paths or drive names.

Any other ideas?
