I have a shoot coming up and need some assistance in filtering and some other issues including using HDR. I'm looking for someone expert in these matters who can help me with some questions about filter order, using IRND's, polarizer's, etc., via PM and e-mail as I'm not having luck here (seems like everyone is very busy, which is good!) :). Pay TBD but I'm hoping we can work out a barter. Please PM. Thank you!

Thank you! Can I stack IRND's or must subsequent ND's (after an IRND) be normal, non IRND?

You shouldn't stack IRNDs as you'll get some interesting results, haha. You can stack regular NDs and use a Hot Mirror filter in front.

"Interesting" is a friendly word.
I would have though that where you would put the FX filter, would be a bit depending on the effect...

But that IS just an asumption...

Polarizer should go before NDs (closer to lens), eh? Never was sure about that order.

pretty sure Pola goes furthest from the lens, closest to the scene since you want it to be the first filter light goes through before entering the lens. I believe most photo circular polarizers don't have filters on the front so you cant screw in other filters in front of them as doing so would cause them to not work properly.

Haha. Well, interesting, but not in our favor!

I believe the order is correct because the Polas usually bring about some reflections, at least that happened to me when I tried it at the front.

I purchased a 138mm Schneider polarizer presumably designed to go in my mattebox (O'Box), closest to the lens and after ND's. Do they not intend it to be after ND's by placing it in that part of the mattebox? Crazy how elusive this information is.
