Hello,

I just saw this video on vimeo. And I was amazed on how good the grain was holding through vimeo compression. Any idea how to achieve this so good (what grain +settings + render settings?)

Also they use the film roll effect. Is there a template somewhere, so I can recreate this effect fast? Without having to recreate this in photoshop?

Thanks!

Sean Mullen from Rampant Media has a good explanation of some ways to simulate the "film roll" effect:

I don't think the question is how to create grain - you can do it really easy in Resolve. This thing is how to save its look through compression.
The first question on grain was answered. I was tackling the second.

The key to preserving grain is host your videos on a website where they aren't going to use as much compression. As one example, Vimeo Pro uses less compression than the stock YouTube HD settings.

My language might be misleading due to translation, sorry for that. I didn't mean this is not the question, what i really meant is - compression and graind is a tougher thing to achieve in nowadays steaming conditions.
