Ok, let us do a nice little experiment here, can we? Ok, let us think of a zoom lens in these terms, Ok, are you ready for this?: Wide angle…..Normal….. Telephoto and everything in between. Is like a having a magic box with many, many lenses inside!
Ok. Now let us all close our eyes and think of this…are you ready?: a movie is made with many different kinds of lenses like: Wide angle, Normal, Telephoto and a few in between. That is the way it is ALWAYS done, right! You need these little fellows in the front end of the camera unless you are using a pinhole camera.
Then again we have a wonderful and getting better choice: lens adapters that give you you, guess what?: Wide angle, Normal, Telephoto and everything in between. Isn’t that grand!
I am sure Red is going to put a nice looking piece of glass in front of that baby, if nothing else just to make everybody criticizing it right now look foolish.
To those who say you won’t be able to make great movies with a 3K camera we should all laugh at them all at once. The reality is it has been done with less. Do not pay any attention to the price tag of Scarlet, play very close attention to its features. If you can understand THOSE NUMBERS you will be doing fine.
I’ve said before in this forum and I will say it again: if you can’t set yourself in a positive way to succeed in this business look somewhere else and leave the people willing to take the chances do their thing.
