  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Film Students Music Video shot on MX Sensor, please give me input!

WOW great job Joel! This is fantastic! I got to admit, the minute I saw the words "film student" I immediately thought it was going to be super armature, but you proved me wrong!

Specifically, I liked the theme. Usually I find music video's to be extremely cliche and all around pointless. The "plot" of this one however was very original and looked very professional.

Keep up the good work!

I'm with Omar. I read film student and I thought "oh oh" (I'm a film student myself, so you're in good company) but after viewing it I'm very impressed. The transition with the tracking shot was nice, the look, detail and color all seemed really well done. One critique I have is that the opening is too long. I would cut it down, bring in the music sooner. And I was sort of confused with the artist... it's like a sentimental thing all about a cat. I guess the music and message was lost on me, but your work looked amazing.

Thank you very much, I had a Partner in Directcing this piece, Jonathon Ward. Together we made a beautiful piece. Thanks Again, Im glad I can generate such a positive response and a nod towards my professionalism. We had one hell of a crew, really nailed this one as the Cats were on a limited basis, we had 8 hours on set with the cats for two overnighters. We had a blast making this one!

It was good...here are the issues I had..mostly with lighting

Your first night scene was over lit to my taste.

The backlight on the actor near the fireplace was also too much for me... even if it was practical it seemed to blocked , forced and unmotivated

Loved the hospital room lighting!

Didn't understand the performance section..why there...why the dusty piano? Too long of an intro without any drama.....start with the taking off of the cover if you had to....again didn't care for the perf section...just didn't get it

While all the visuals did complement the polished and produced music It would have nice to see a bit of cinematic contrast from the narrative...HH or something to create a more raw sense of energy... quicker edits of a guy around a piano wasn't enough for me.

But overall good work....nice understandable quick story...with a great kitten to cat wide that needs to be complimented.
