Hey everyone, I've asked this question before in a different community, but wanted to see if you had any ideas on achieving a particular overlay look. I really like the film grain, damage, and quality of the first 25 seconds of the Carpenter Brut Turbo Killer music video. It'd be great to find out if this is a custom overlay they created or if there are OTS solutions to achieve this film overlay look. Thanks in advance for any help!

I haven't seen this particular video, but you can get some good samples of grain and damaged film from the following sources:

http://cinegrain.com/
http://www.crumplepop.com/
http://filmlooks.com/

http://gorillagrain.com/
http://indieessentials.com
http://www.rgrain.com/

Crumblepop, FilmLooks, and Indie Essentials have some good damaged film bits, as does Warren Eagles with his ScratchFX bundle on FXPHD. Cinegrain is as good as it gets for many different film "textures," all the way from subtle to fairly extreme.

Thanks, Marc. These are definitely good places to start. I'm still hoping someone can help shed light on whether or not the film look they have in the video was custom made or OTS.
