As I said on another thread this is undoubtedly one of the best looking UK tv dramas ever committed to 16mm/35mm/Red - it looks much more like a feature film and is visually pretty unique, especially compared to ITV drama which seems to be passed through some kind of a bland identikit look process. This is the kind of thing Channel 4 should be doing regularly - taking chances and producing unique drama! Everyone involved in "Red Riding" should give themselves a hearty pat on the back...this thing is going to clear up at the awards!

The mentality was much more cinematic that anything on British TV for a long while. BBC do some one off's but they are still drowning in TV-land shot selection. Can't imagine the Auntie Beeb doing anything like this...I think they should. Its within their capabilities.

They are feature films, with the DI at LipSync Post.

I meant feature films as in cinema-release rather than feature length/made for tv (my point being that we're used to seeing far more imagination and chances taken with the look of something geared towards a theatrical release than a tv release (especially if we're talking ITV!!), so it's a pleasant surprise to see something made for tv which could easily have been released in a cinema). I think they did a fantastic grade on it at LipSync too. I'm not sure what category "Red Riding" will get placed come awards season (drama serial? mini-series?) but whatever it is I'm pretty sure it'll clean up (there just doesn't seem to be anything remotely near it). Congratulations to all involved!!
