Cool stats.

One thing does annoy me though: $70 is only $70 if nobody gets payed because other films kept them fed and trained. The camera is borrowed from someone who made money on enough other jobs and the computer was payed off on other work as well.

I always get annoyed with those figures. Sure if someone else pays your salary and the salary of everyone else who helps you then it's $70. But that's sort of like saying my car and housing are free this week since I already payed the monthly bills.

Low budget films are almost always only low budget because a lot of people donated time and talent which was developed on expensive well paying jobs.

I think when it comes to budgets, these things are sometimes used as a marketing tool more than an anything.. So go figure when they quote absurd numbers like $70. 70.. Really? What about food?

I think the entrance fee for Sundance is more than $70.

I'm also kind of confused by Avatars "the rest was payed for by private investors." It's still a production expense! :D
