Hey Everyone,

I was part of a team that entered a radio competition to recreate a previously made feature film in 60 seconds. We picked Fincher's/Palahniuk's "Fight Club". We shot on a Red One MX in two days and all the post work was done in 1.5 weeks by one person. The visual effects are not perfect, I'll admit, but overall I think we didn't do to badly considering we had no budget and a very minimal crew.

Check it out at the competition site (and if you like it, feel free to sign up and vote for us. Hint hint!)

Our goal was to honour the film and we did our best to recreate each shot as best we could. I've got to say I learned more about lighting in those two days that I had on any other production. Trying to recreate what DP Jeff Cronenweth shot was such a great way to work on my lighting skills.

Thanks everyone!

great work Shawn. Some amazing production value packed into such a short time. Some of the scenes looked like they could be from the actual film, minus the face of the A list stars of course.

The only thing that took me out of this piece was the final shot. The buildings just looked way too fake and looked like the effects guys just ran out of time on that shot. Kudos on a beautiful looking piece.

Thanks Zhibo.

Unfortunately, the effects guy (aka me) did run out of time. I wasn't happy submitting it the way it was, but I was overruled.

Impressive work Shawn. What did you use for the vfx?

It's fun to see how a movie can be resumed in 60 seconds. I really liked the movies, and I'll tell you what... You did a wonderful job here ! ;D

Thanks everyone for the complements!

Brandon: VFX were all done in After Effects with the buildings being done in Maya (which was a struggle because I hadn't used Maya in a few years. haha)
