Its long time since I have showed something new here…
So its time…
So I present FiberPack II… I will be at IBC stand 7.G12 (softron) and propably at Sony stand with YoYotta guys exhibiting it…
I tried to answer this question…
Can I have all the DIT gizmo’s like LTO, Raids, FC SAN, G Ethernet, onset nWiFi, video out HD-SDI/HDMI, as well as UPS power management with hours of autonomy, in one small portable carry on flight case allowing all connected with a single Thunderbolt cable?
And that’s what is come out…

The new FiberPack II which inherits all the looks of its predecessor that is seen in the photos has an all new set of features and most crucially it combines Fiber Channel speed and durability along with Thunderbolt easiness and speed. From the 8 disks, the all new FiberPack, will have 16 populated with 2,5” low power 2Tb disk drives reaching the amazing 32Tb storage capacity in the field! Fiberpack now stacks an LTO-5 or 6 internally!
Additionally an upgraded power management system that can get power even from a Solar panel gives outstanding autonomy from 4+ hours to almost 14 hours with just one 62w panel if you have the sun shining.
The amazing ability to have a second MacBook Retina utilizing a SAN connected with a Fiber Channel 4G to the disk raid array allows full speed 300+ Mbyte/sec media access, thus RAW playback and processing of 2K, 4K material is a joy, exactly as if you were in the studio…!
Moreover an integrated n-WiFi Router with a 3 port GBit Ethernet Switch allows connectivity to all production crew with iPads and all other WiFi enabled devices to have read access to dallies right from the disk array...
