I wanted to make sure the format of the FF1080p/Fixed Lens is compatible with my non-linear editing machine. Do you think 1080p will be a Red format or standard one that my machine can understand?

I edit on a Casablanca S-4000 PRO which has a Divx converter accepting 1080 formats in QT, AVI, WMV and others.

Anything coming off of the camera will be recorded in redcode.

I thought 1080p was going to be in RGB.
In any case I doubt any Cassablanca system will be up to editing RedCode or RGB. start thinking dual quad Xeon or corei7 when they become readily available

REDCODE RGB for the FF1080p format.

We'll see who supports what when these new cameras start shipping. But I'd say it's a safe bet your Casablanca system won't be up to the challenge. Not trying to rip on the Casablanca S4K system, but my 2 year old Macbook Pro would smack that thing around in terms of processing power and it was over $1K cheaper at the time. What you are paying for with the Casablanca system is the convenience of the turn-key package. It looks like a good system for its intended use -- HDV and SD content.
