  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Feature Film storage for RC42 RC80 and RC100

Realized few things...

Realized few things...

Reading this thread I really get to the conclusion that this thread should moved to "DSMC general" since all the cameras will have the same storage problems...

If Scarlet with 100Mbytes/sec footage would be difficult imagine EPIC FF35 with 225Mbytes/sec...

Only fiber raids can get to this sustained speeds and be plug in like USB...

A 4G fiber FC-AL port on EPIC or Scarlet for direct connection with a Neutric:

to a portable Raid-6 array... capable of 350Mbytes/sec write performance with on board Li-ion batteries with run times of few hours, 6Tbytes on line capacity, IATA compliant for check in either as carry-on or as regular luggage, build in a waterproof/shockproof design, capable to withstand drop from 1 meter and frond panel with IP54 protection...

Am I dreaming?...

At 6TB you'd have to get three or four of those... wow.

That would be sweet man, but personally I don't even want to think about handling 225, it makes my gums bleed like Neo's. :gun:

I think renting for a day must be possible, or finding a media house who can transfer it for a not a bigh price. I even think that let it transfering it would be even cheaper than hiring the LTO. Lets say you have a company who points someone out to do the job. All he has to do once its set up is click copy! Or I love the idee as you mentioned of downcoverting the old data to 1080 to , that would shrink the data a lot for storage or less tapes.
So I think I will go that way in the future.
