I have a ton of FD mount lenses, and an eos adapter, but will Scarlet work with them? Is there a mode you can switch to "no lens" so it isn't looking to communicate with the lens? Thanks guys!

Optitek is taking orders for a FD mount for the Epic/Scarlet. There is a thread somewhere around here. A FD-specific mount should clear up any issues that come from a FD to EF adapter.

It's really soft wide open at 1.8 but as soon as you drop it down 2 or 3 stops it gets sharp

Maybe you could ask Leitax if they would produce an adapter. These are supposedly rock solid. Matt Duclos uses and recommends their lens adapters. You attach them with screws so they become part of the lens.

They seem to listen very much what the customers want and add adapters as the need arises. So just ask

Oh sorry, ok I ignored the part of you not having the adapter but the mount problem.

Still maybe this is an idea.the adapters can be fitted with or without chip, so maybe there's a solution..

Leitax adapters are rock solid ...pricey (by still mount standards) ...but solid, I use them on my Leica R glass.

Isnt there a problem with flange thickness between the FD & EOS mount?

I'm glad there is interest! I plan on using 50% FD glass. any soft edges can be fixed, specially when shooting in 3 or 4k!

Yep, FD flange focal distance is 42mm, EF is 44mm and PL is 52mm so you have to have a specific mount unless you put an optical adapter behind the lens.
