Haven't got around to installing Snow Leopard yet because I want to finish this video and then do a clean install...

So I've done the editing, I know Color hates cross dissolves etc.

I figured, take out the cross dissolves, do the color and throw them back in...

Guess I thought wrong because now when I try to do place the cross dissolves back in their place, what use to be a min long dissolve is now only a second, changing the time doesn't even work...

Anyone know a remedy for this?

Thanks!

Imran,

Cross dissolves can stay with the timeline for FCP to Color back and forth I think.

It crashed color when I tried it so thats why I want to go another route because it's fine when i sent without the dissolves...

Imran,

In my case, with FCS2, I was fine with the dissolves. Maybe some other filter is causing the crash?

I had this when I had other material in the edit that Color didn't appreciate. Took it out and the project went back and forth with no problems, transitions and all. FCS3 BTW.

Well in my timeline is basically clips from rocket no correction, straight cuts dissolves and one fade out...
I do have a second layer which is just one clip but even when I tested taking that out it still crashes,

I'm starting to think of just ditching color and doing it in Ae...

Export sequence full and just use curves and hue&saturation to correct it with keyframes?

I've haven't been having any problems sending sequences back and forth with cross dissolves. However, if you are taking them out before going to color, then you will need to tell color to render out handles so you have enough media for the dissolves when you put them back. Under the setup tab, go to project settings and change the handle length from zero to what ever you need. If it's just for the one clip, then change it and just render out the two shots needed for the dissolve.

Ah!that definetly would be a solve for the issue,I just assumed it renders handles etc. and hands the sequence back coloured...
Shall try that!

Thanks everyone for the help! :)
