FCS vs. CS4 Workflow

Premiere misses a good synchronisation tool when working with separate audio files...

You know, I'm an Adobe fan, even though this past week I've spent more time rebooting my computer than editing, on CS4 yes...

Jeff is right, Premiere is such an easy to use, logical, and strong EDITOR than FCP does not compare to it at all, or Avid or Vegas for that matter. I mean, all the people using extracts of monkeys, crimson powders and other wizardry tools just don't know what editing natively truly means. Then again, some professional features that are so established in the industry is silly not to include them are still missing. Which has led me to believe that Adobe is really not interested in playing to win, even now when they are in a position to seize undeniable advantages they have, they are still playing cautious and measured. So, I don't know, unless they accept the fact that Premiere is actually in a position, for the fist time ever, to really make a leap upwards, and have to guts to play at that level, then Premiere will be left to a bunch of loyal devotees like myself when it could be gaining new adepts every day...

As for color correction apps inside the Creative Suite, to me this is a contentious point. Color Finesse is a GREAT product, and it does 90% of what Color can do, if not more. Adobe should definitely buy out Synthetic Aperture and bring Color Finesse up to par, which they could do very easily, or at least invest heavily into the company. An even better idea would be for them to buy Red Giant and gain the rights to the AWESOME Magic Bullet and Colorista, which are amazing apps that actually make color grading FUN. Or they could extract and amalgamate all the color grading features available between After Effects and Photoshop and create an app that would easily surpass anything else. But whatever, before all the could, would, should, the fact remains that Adobe's attitude has to change and they need to accept the challenge that to be a competitor you need to behave like one, which means, be fierce, play hard, take no prisoners, move in leaps instead of steps, and above all, promote your products as if you TRULY believe in them!!! their advertisement is always so low key, so lukewarm, so in the middle, it's no wonder that's exactly how users perceive their products.

All this is coming from somebody who bought CS4 Master Collection legittimately and at full price :-)

Rudi, you got it 100% right. If Adobe is listening, they should adress all of the above. all in all PPRO right now is an excellent editor.

Thanks so much for all of your input guys! I think what really spooked me was that "bonus" comment from the Adobe staff. I mean you buy the damn software; what's this "bonus" comment? It really made me feel like you might be buying into some sliding scale where they reserve the right to pull your license and demand more money later and not even for upgrades...It is a terrible bug to present to a FCP guy who only wants to upgrade his production capacity.

I like Adobe and I've been using it, but now with build 21 the answer to this thread is an easy one..............
