For those of you who crept back to the distant reaches of the South Hall at NAB, you might have seen the ExaSan booth where I was demoing real time playback of the same native 4k Epic timeline (not in proxy), referencing the EXACT same clips, in a seamless group workflow environment from the latest Mac Pro, Retina, and iMac, with a Mac Mini running as the server. For those of you who missed it, we're going to be showing how to set up exactly that, and much more, at our Lumaforge 4k training day. If you're in LA, and you're interested in making a 4k deliverable as easy as 1080, you're going to want to check this out:

The fact is that anyone who says FCPX is not a professional program simply hasn't used it lately, especially when it comes to RED workflow. We want to change the way DIT's, Assistants, editors, and colorists work and communicate with each other, and we want to see people spend more time on the creative side of their films, and less time conforming/transcoding/troubleshooting/banging their heads against the wall. There's simply no reason at this point that working and delivering in 4k needs to be hard. If you sign up for the 27th, we'll show you why.
