FCP7 M Edit to H Output

Hey guys. Could someone point me in the direction of a good tutorial or answer a few questions? I was brought in to help edit a feature that was shot in 4K and edited using M (1K) proxies in Final Cut Pro 7. I wasn't there for the import process, but Log and Transfer was never used to bring the footage into Final Cut.

We're trying to get a Blu-Ray created, so we need to online the film to 2K/HD. The tutorials I've seen show using the Media Manager and reconnecting the media, but if I'm not mistaken, that makes it difficult if Log and Transfer wasn't used (the Batch Capture option keeps wanting to recognize a deck). We're just trying to reconnect to the H proxies and get a better looking version of the film on our timeline. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Crude solution is to export the timeline as XML, which you can open in a text editor and use search and replace to change _M to _H, and reimport. You will then still need to change timeline settings and clip scaling.

Or Clipfinder can automate this a bit. But you can't buy that any more.

Interesting. Thanks! We will try this. The computer we're editing on does have Clipfinder, I just don't have access to it at the moment to try it out. Appreciate the help.
