Maybe someone can answer this. A discussion came up recently on a no budget short that outside of crimson these is no friendly app convert a FCP XML to redcine and certainly not for free.
Now I know there used to be a script floating around in the early days that would do it for you but I believe that dosent work any more on the current versions.
Am I right in telling them to just buy crimson and stop looking.

If you are on a Mac, you might want to have a look at Clipfinder (link in my signature).
It doesn't work with REDCine, but you may find you don't need that.
Details are explained in the integrated Help Pages (CMD-?).

Cheers,
Hans

Cool thanks

"No budget" and lustre dont always go together.
Hans will clipfinder render out just the required section from the r3d file or the whole file?

Mazen,
there´s a lot of threads talking about, my favorite it´s Mike Burton one:

1. Redrushes to prores.
2. Import and cut in FCP.
3. Export EDL form FCP
4. Import EDL in color, export to DPX, Uncompresed or Cineon, from original RAW.

more explained in some Mike´s great post. Luca and Kaku have grate ways with proxies.

Clipfinder it’s an amazing application from Hans, it saves the day many times. Last week we have a problem using crimson-Redcine workflow with B18 4k ANA material, Clipfinder do the Job, actually grading in a Lustre.

Go to the Workflows section and... enjoy

perfect opportunity to send many thanks again and again to Hans.

ClipFinder is a neat little application, kind of like a swiss knife for the RED workflow. Even as our processes grow in Pro-Apps, having the swiss knife in the holster is always a huge asset.

Many kudos for the uncluttered, no-nonsense design and thanks for his generosity to the community to Hans.
