I just got some 5K Dragon footage and I went to import into FCP X but it is not reading so I used RED Cine X to convert to pro res.

My question is does anyone know when RED / FCP X will release an update to be able to read the footage natively?

I have no problem editing native Scarlet 4K footage on my iMac.

Thanks!

hey statva, long time no see. i had the same trouble with premiere pro CS6. for what it's worth the newer CC version of premiere pro handles the dragon footage perfectly. if you're in a pinch, you can use the trial version, and i believe you can set up the interface so that your final cut hot-keys work, which might help flatten out the learning curve. best of luck.

Thanks guys, all of you were right, just needed to update the RED Apple plugin, I thought I was up to date but guess not. FCP X is now handling footage flawlessly and the Dragon footy is looking amazing!

Right on Scott, didn't know you had a RED, nice one! I'll go and check out your site now to see what you have been filming..
