i have cut some proxy files in FCP 6.04 together for a video. Some of these proxies have been reversed, time remapped or sped up. Now, Ive exported an XML, opened in Crimson and created reference videos as is instructed in their workflow videos.

NOW, when i conform in REDcine, the clips come in and it SEEMS that the time remapped, reversed, etc clips are really off - either a completely wrong part of the clip or have not been reversed, remapped etc. Evidently, when i use the Roundtrip XML back in FCP, they are still off and are even clipped to only one frame.

SO, what do i do? is there a work around to maintain the time remaps?
Or do i need to painfully bring in unremapped clips into redcine and then retime in FCP?? any help would be great

this would be hard enough to do as a and to color command. Let alone what you are attempting. I would put the time remapes clips on another layer then stretch them to their acual length and re do the time remap when you import.

Simple.

Any type of motion effects is not supported in Crimson and/or REDCine. David is right ... gotta do it by hand and eye matching!

Here's what I do...Before you conform with Crimson at each place you timeremap, make a marker with the speed at which the clip should be and then set it to 100%. After you conform with Crimson those markers should still be there and you just have to select the clip and enter the marker note info for the clip.

Any kind of "optical" effects have to be at 100% speed before you conform with Crimson. I'm not sure if Ian will ever be able to get around that--hopefully he will!
