Two things (possibly related)

1) For some reason, everything I edit in FCP looks significantly darker than when I open it up my exported MOV file. Is that just with Quicktime? If I burn it to a DVD and watch it, will I see what I did in FCP or what I did in Quicktime?

2) So I had to recapture about a week's worth of footage using the RED Undead. When I open the recaptured footage in FCP it looks fine -- the correct gamma, color correction, metadata, etc. that my DP put in while we were shooting. However, after exporting it, it goes back to looking metadata-less... high gain, no gamma, no color correction.

Help please?

Thanks!

Have you checked 'Enable Final Cut Studio color compatibility' in quicktime preferences?

Your gamma settings could be wrong. I don't know if you're on snow leopard but it has a new gamma setting then 10.5 and if you don't have the gamma setting in quicktime set then it could be using system gamma instead of the gamma amount from the clip.

Also, did you record all the footage in REC709 or REDspace or mix both? that could be the difference right there.

When you export the footage at in looks like RAW, what settings/type of export are you using?
