Hi all

We just installed the FCP3 upgrade a few days ago, but today all of a sudden things work problematic. Every now and then (there is no logic to be found in this), the canvas turns pink and green and cuts the picture in half. See the attached picture to see what I mean.

We've done a bit of research, but the suggestions we found were of little help unfortunately: it cannot be a broken hard drive, throwing out render files does not solve the problem either.

The only thing that seems to solve it for now, is by toggling on the 'show excess luma'. But that seems like a weird solution to an even weirder problem and could very well be a short term solution for a bigger underlying problem. Does anyone have any clue what might be the problem and how to solve it?

Thanks in advance!

When I see green blank screens I usually check the SDI input of the system as its green with some ping noise that's often what's displayed with no input or invalid input on a capture card. The jpg seems odd, I think Id check the seating of all of the cards in the machine and make sure its not one loose or poorly seated.

Hmm, didn't seem to solve the problem. Yesterday one project worked just fine, whereas the next would be problematic again...

Two more posibilities. Are any card drivers ie AJA/ Blackmagic up to date with the version for FCP and QT you are using ?

Also,It could be this be a corrupted project ? Can you verify the source media is OK, If it is a plays in QT player reliably could you create a new project and verify that the known good media works in the new project. This may try to narrow down were the problem is. If this works try moving sequences from the problematic project to the new project. This process may tell you if the sequence and any filters are corrupt of the project it self.

10-bit and 8-bit miss matching for the video output selection give you that sometimes.

The source media is ok and in this system we have no AJA or Black magic card.
We've been working in the same sequences and projects now for a few days without any problems (knock knock on wooden table) and without changing anything, so it doesn't seem to make any sense.
Anyway, thanks for your input guys!
