OK so I shot my first music video on RED. Looks amazing. My editor did a cut off the 1K proxies. Now I need to get that EDL into Redcine and do a conform to 1080p prores...HELP. Has anybody made this work?

Tried Redtrip. Couldn't make it work. Kept getting this Bash error...
For now I'm just grading all the shots and exportig to 1080 prores. Files seem to link just fine to the proxie edits. That's a fine workflow on a music video but the render times are a pain...

What's the error you were getting Jon?

Roundtrip file likely won't work. But I'm fixing that today.

I'd appreciate it if you'd share the error with me regardless. You can do this by copying and pasting the contents of the bash window.

Thanks,

The version I downloaded on Monday did not allow me to use spaces in file names.

I just don't understand why people insist on using spaces in filenames. I realize OS conventions allow it now, but it's just asking for trouble, especially when you start working with shell scripts. The convention is that spaces mark the end of the last entry and beginning of the next. This is how almost all scripts deal with spaces.

this question will be asked 1000s of times worldwide within the next months.
redcine needs edl import or an edl->xml parser of its own.

p.s.
the chinese have a curse: "may you live in interesting times" :)

I am a little confused (for not having used Redcine) but I assume that Redcine can load Quicktime files, then if one does a cut on FCP, then can't one make reference QT files (not regular QT files) and load them up in Redcine, instead of trying to go EDL/XML pathways? Any help will be appreciated.

Redcine doesn't load anything except .r3d files.

I got RedTrip to work. There was a bash error, but it got an offline into RedCine.

Hi,

Thank you for your script.

I searched in around the forum and I never saw these error.

Thx

Benjamin
