Having trouble with FCP import. I think I have it figured out, but it looks totally wonky in the timeline, the thumbnails are all start of clip (and thus are all slate boards) instead of where those clips actually are

Hi Shawn,

Yeah thumbnails are always frame 0 unless you change the timeline style to "Filmstrip" from the preferences.

Thanks David! I'll try that. Does RedCineX have the ability to trim R3Ds in a sequence? I'd love to be able to lift out just my pieces and take those to a new machine for grading. Make sense? So take in a timeline while on my HDD that has ALL of the Red footage for that project, then tell RedCineX to make a new folder and timeline of just the pieces of those R3Ds used in my sequence.

Hi Shawn,

It does -- check out the "R3D Trim" export preset. Run it on a timeline (separate clips). It will dump the entire sequence into it's own folder, optionally including wrappers and an FCP XML file.

Thank you David!! Your help has been much appreciated.

Got my footage in, did a pass. Now I can't find a 'Send back to FCP' button! Can I request this feature? :-)

Thankfully I had flattened my sequence into just one track so I then just took all the rendered files and recreated my sequence.

Hi Shawn,

In 356 you have to option to put out an XML when doing a Trim or when doing Wrappers. In the future you'll be able to put out an XML with Quicktimes.

This is really good news David!

Will it be possible to conform a mixed media timeline in rcx, in a way that rcx just ignores the non-Red or possibly VFX content?

Cheers
