do you know how when you first drag a red proxy file into a sequence, a box comes up that asks if you would like the sequence to change its settings according to the file.

well, the editor kinda forgot to change the settings and went ahead and edited the entire thing in pal sd.

Sound Track pro sucks ASS. i've tried to SEND TO soundtrack pro from fcp.. i get the video and all the audio tracks, but i get no sound at all, and all the footage in the browser say channels (0). theres no waveform.. theres nothing in the edited multitracks.

so

q1. how can i succesfully change the settings of the sequence to match the video in it?

q2. all video files have an altered aspect ratio and the scale changed. how can i apply one particular setting to all my footage? like change the sale of all the footage back to 100.

q3. since soundtrack is being a bitch, is there a way i could change a single channelled audio file to stereo?

If you change the sequence setting after you placed the clips, by changing the sequence setting would lead to the clips' aspect ratio and sizes getting unmatched. If you select the right setting, then what you can do is to select all of the clips in the timeline, and delete the motion effects (that will affect size and the ratio and other things in the motion tab).

This question is answered in the above, but when you want to change some size and ratio setting at once, you can select all of the clips and apply motion effect preset (make one with one clip and save it).

Soundtrack is hardly "Pro" application but it is good for constructing soundtrack using their loop files. Anyhow, Do you want to convert a mono track to stereo? If that so, you can take a mono track and make the pan setting to center, then export the audio using quicktime export (select audio only) and that will make it as stereo audio file unless you choose to output mono. I use Digital Performer to do all of my audio editing especially now that DP6 supports 23.976 finally.
