can you provide more details?

1) were there RED volumes mounted at time you opened the L&T?
2) if so, how many clips were contained within
3) if not, did you try to mount a red volume or did the problem occur
before you got that far

i copied the folder from RED Drive to a Fiber Hard disk.
it is just 3 clips ( short clips ), I'm doing some tests before renting.
what do you mean of mounting RED volumes ?

I'm trying to determine if the hang is happening while trying to load clips
into the L&T browser or sometime before that. If you have a volume
mounted that has RDM or RDC folders in the top level folder then the L&T
will try to mount them automatically.

Try this....

Assuming you copied the entire red drive to the Fiber hard disk, you have
something like this (I suppose)

Fiber Hard Disk
clipxxx.RDM
<......>.RDC
<.....>_001.R3D
clipyyy.RDM
<......>.RDC
<.....>_001.R3D
clipzzz.RDM
<......>.RDC
<.....>_001.R3D

etc.

If this is similar to what you have, try placing those RDM folders (and their
entire contents) one folder down as such:

Fiber Hard Disk
REDSHOOTFOLDER
clipxxx.RDM
<......>.RDC
<.....>_001.R3D
clipyyy.RDM
<......>.RDC
<.....>_001.R3D
clipzzz.RDM
<......>.RDC
<.....>_001.R3D

etc.

Then start FCP, open the L&T, and drag/drop the folders (from the Finder) onto the L&T browser pane one at a time.

Dammit....looks like all my indentations get removed...hopefully you'll get the idea.

the problem is before adding the clips

what can i do ?

Hmmmmm. At the risk of being really annoying, but wanting to make sure I fully understand the situation, can you make sure there are not any red clips anywhere on your system then start FCP and open the L&T and tell me what happens. (perhaps you've already done this) If it isn't trying to load red clips then it must be on the apple side of things, but I don't want to go to them without exhausting all possibilities on the red side.
