Hello!
Like many folks here, I find myself conducting a lot of interviews. Be it for case study, testimonial, or documentary, one of my favorite parts of my job has always been interacting with people and recording conversations.
I like to throw out a slight curveball question every now and then, in hopes of drawing out some personality. While always being respectful and conscious of the subject at hand, I find it can warm up an interview subject and yield fantastic content for the cut. Some examples might be: "What is your idea of perfect happiness?" or "what is the trait you most deplore in others?" or "Tell me about someone who you think deserves the world." or "what is something you have changed your mind about?"

Does anyone here have a favorite off-topic question to ask someone on camera?
