  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Favorite High-End Beer?

Here in Portland, we have the best concentration of microbrews in the world. Seriously, if you visit, you'll see! In between McMenamins, Bridgeport, Rogue, McTarnans, Widmer Brothers and tons of other smallers ones, you never have to drink outside the state to get an amazing selection of high end specialty beers.

Got that right Shawn. And at the very bottom of the state (Oregon) just off of I-5 in the little town of Ashland is the Caldera brewery. Their pale ale is right up there with the best of them. The only one I like better is Samual Smiths Pale Ale out of England. Yummynums.

I've heard of a beer called Green Gorilla, maybe just an urban legend, whose after effects include, unaccounted for disorder in ones bedroom, head and mouth, the latter normally accompanied with a side taste of diced carrotts, unexplained diminished wealth and neat little 'home made pizzas' by one's bed in the morning!! Probably Belgian I guess.......

Asking someone what there FAVORITE beer is, is like asking someone what there favorite type of sex is- if the chemistry is right, and it was made with love than it's ALL good. Same thing goes for wine... Depends on your mood. I am a serious beerman, here a few good finds...

From Schlenkerla Brewery- Germany:

weizen.gif

Yup that last one is a smoked Weisen... Tom?
I'd like to also state that these brews are the closest thing to a good tasting liquid bacon you'll ever want- extremely addicting once you get past the initial shock- it takes about three glasses...

Two extremely good Hefeweizen- Germany:

And a german co op brewery that makes excellent drink with their own hops, and is very hard to find outside of their immediate surroundings:

And the list goes on and on and on-

oh-
Theakston's Old Peculier for me.....
right on man- great beer....

Lol, CamDiver.

The Aventinus dopplebock in my OP is really strong stuff. It's like the polar opposite of bud light.

Also just thought I'd add...

Hefeweizens are for wussies. Lemon on the rim of a beer glass. Pah.

Ouch, beware of Krusovice - bad taste, headache, diarrhoea, and other strange things , ... not only from my experience
... maybe try one or two glasses of Krusovice Musketyr, but thats all

I guess you are not shooting for couple of days because of bagage issues.

AYINGER UR-WEISSE (bavarian)

KOZEL DARK VELKO POPOVICKI, (czeck)

... both of them are a substitute for food..

 I consider Pilsner Urquell as very good digestive.
Even very small glass works very well.
It is also recomended for non acidic nature by doctors.
