Favorite/Great/Well Done Music Videos...

[Peter Moretti]

Music videos have become an artform and some of the stuff that we might not listen to can still have pretty amazing visual work and storytelling.

So what music videos do you like?

Here's one that I think is pretty outstanding, now if I listen to Avril or not... I'm not answering :coolgleamA:.

Again, if anyone has any favorites, please share.

[Rob Ruffo]

Nice. Looks like 35mm film with Zeiss Ultras - anybody know?

[Tom Lowe]

It's kind of a girly video, but I love the black & white cinematography in Evenescence "My Immortal".

[Anson Fogel]

Zak Forrest here on RU makes incredible stuff. The old AC features him this month, relative to an MV he created with his partner. Look him up.

[J Davis]

the marvelous Saam Farahmand "3 words" for cheryl cole

and of course, one of the best music videos ever created, Michel Gondry "Star Guitar" for the Chemical Bros
where every building on the train track represents a sound

Maybe my favorite music video ever:

Carl Sagan meets hallucinatory stream of consciousness meets American Apparel models meets 16mm. NSFW, btw.

[Evin Grant]

Anything by Michele Gondry, Johnny Cash "Hurt" by Mark Romanek Bjork's "Evrything is love" by Chris Cuningham.

Pretty much everything on the director's label DVDs.

[Harry Clark]

Metallica's "The Unforgiven". Matt Mahurin's understated use of swing and tilt lenses (at the start of that trend) without being too gimmicky with it. Plus the lighting, framing, and art direction are all really well done.
And for schlocky fun I also enjoy Talking Head's "Once In A Lifetime". Boy, the fun you can have with an Ikegami HL-79 and a Quantel Chroma Key machine!
Cheers,
Harry

Nice! I was just about to post the same thing.

As out there as the concept for this video is it feels so right for the track. Seems to reflect the disconcerted lyrics
