Hey all,

So I'm slogging my way through my first Red project, and I'm rendering out of Redcine to go into Avid. I've got a brand new HP 8600 Workstation (i'll get the full stats when I can) and my render time for abou 20 minutes of footage is 3 hours and change at the lowest resolution I can figure out and with no color correction

Am I missing something that might make this faster? Any help with fine tuning setting would be appreciated.

Good point.

I'm rendering out QT for the Avid Dnxhd. The color correction did seem to make a difference, becuase my first time was 24 hours, then when I removed the correcting I had done it dropped to 15.

Are you rendering from the full fame, or the 1/2 or 1/4? That will change your render times.

Hi guys, I have a xps 1530 with a core 2 duo 2.6ghz processor and 4gs og ram along with 320gb hard drive that runs at 7200 rpm and a 256mb nvidia geforce 8600m gt. Also I'm running vista 64, which everything works fine accept the render time is horrible. My view settings are at 1/4 high rez and my output is draft to QT at 10 bits, source files is a 4k 16x9 4:2:2. the clip is 25 sec, "running as a test" and the render time is 8 mins. Now i can't really think of anything that would slow this down other than running it on vista, but seems like if the program works completely then vista isn't the problem.
