Anyone know more details about how this was shot?

Love the look.

Know it's Alexa, and Season 1 used a lot of Jib for movement.

Anyone know what lenses? And filtration?

Has such a distinct look - love to know more about it!!

thanks!

I'm in Calgary on a job and our 2nd AC did some dailies. I'll ask him about it.

Turns out our first did some work on it as well, but both of them we're only on the early days of the season but I bribed them with some cold brewski's and this is what they told me:
Alexa
"Not much in terms of effects filters"
Cookes (they couldn't remember which series) with some sprinklings of Summiluxes and others
Mostly 24mm and below "when we went 35 it was like, whoa pulling out the long lens"
Lots of technocrane.

Awesome. Fantastic. THANKS!!!

I was just reviewing some of (our) footage with our DIT, turns out he did some dailies too. He's gonna email the main DIT and get me a proper list.
Apparently there was lots of vintage glass as well, some with mould (for effect)

Honestly, this second season of Fargo is some of my favourite TV ever. (The first was really good too, of course)

It's gorgeous. Did they use the 23.8mm sensor width or the 28.2mm open gate?

Loved the visual tribute to Wes Anderson in the last episode.

Info from Craig, one of the the alternating DPs for season 2

Season 2 Fargo shot with Cooke Speed Panchros. In addition Craig shot the 1950’s flashback on Kowa primes, Operation Eagle’s nest on K35 primes and the opening Massacre at Sioux Falls black and white sequence with the K35 zoom

Dana used Kowa Anamorphic primes (if memory serves - could be wrong) on elements of the Motel sequence.

Leica’s were used on portions of season 1. Most of season 1 was shot on Cooke S4’s.

Thanks Alex!!!!

I'm on episode 4 now from season 2. I hesitated on 2 due to my thinking that it would be so hard to top the 1st season. So wrong. As far as quality goes this is in Breaking Bad territory.

Having a difficult time describing the "look" of Season 2 which is "vintage." Low contrast and almost "peach" like hue that I've never experienced before.
