  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I would assume that in terms of star wattage, director recognition and political action/thriller theme, this is probably OffHollywood biggest project to date?

...and, let's not forget that many months ago Mark promised a package deal for us indies where he's give us 10 full days of Scratch color correction, full comform, formatting, film out and master film print for around $80K. Now that you have new facilities, lots of new gear and ever increasing industry recognition, how about that deal, does the offer still stand, or is it getting even sweeter? :-)

Yes, biggest budget to date.

Our new facilities are not done yet. We are fully operational - but still in construction. When we are done, in addition to our color/DI suite, we will have a 36 seat DI Theatre complete with Dolby 3D. Our goal is to have the best screening room in NYC. It's a big project, and yeah ... it's taking forever - but we are doing it right. We are obviously looking to bigger budget indies and studio films, but our roots are deep in the NY low budget independents and I am committed to serving these producers & projects - it's what we are all about at our core. The indie spirit. But it is impossible to grow the business if you only service low budget projects. The magic formula is to have a balance of both. The goal is to be in a position to pick the budget challenged projects based on their creative merits - and/or the merits of those involved with the project - and give them the same service as if they had much more money. We are just as proud of the quality indies like Toe To Toe and Spliterheads as we are about the higher profile projects. It takes a balance to pay the bills and still deliver the level of service people want and big clients expect. That being said - we will continue to be disruptive with respect to our rates. And to specifically answer your question Rudi - the devil is always in the details (scheduling, exact deliverables, etc. etc.) - but yes - that offer does stand.

Does he usually operate himself? Its an interesting point to me because I like to direct and operate also...out of interest whats peoples thoughts on this? There are pros and cons obviously.

Mark, congrats to you and the rest of the Offhollywood crew!

I recall after the Oscars I heard something about the possibility of a movie being done on this topic with Sean Penn and Naiomi Watts starring...the prospect of which got me pretty excited. Now to hear that it's actually going forward and that you guys are involved is awesome.

Hope to hear more details as the shoot progresses!
