  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

External Raid for editing Scarlet footage on PC with W7

Hi Guys,

Anyone have advice on which external HD (Raid) is best suited to editing r3d files? I currently have 2T raid 0 (comprising 4 discs) but I know that is not enough storage.

I work with a QNAP 859 Pro+ with 8 Drives. Works like a charm, never let me down. I had a workflow test yesterday with some 4.5K Footage, and it played back natively smoothly in Premiere CS5.5 at 1/4 resolution
 
@Daniel: What kind of RAID do you use? RAID6? or 50? What kind of drives? What kind of datarates do you achieve?
