I have been trolling through the various Komodo threads and reading about useful gear. I have a specific question. If you could choose any external monitor for a Komodo, what would it be? Right now, I am considering either a Blackmagic 12G Video Assist or s SmallHD (Focus Pro or Indie 7). I know SmallHD is a big favorite for Red users. I saw the video from Justin where he used the BM12G and said it worked well. In theory, the BM12G can record raw over SDI for some cameras. I do not think it works for the Komodo. I know it would not be R3d raw but if it actually worked it might be pretty nice to have a fallback if something wasn't right on the camera record and it was not possible to reshoot. However, I believe the control functionality is much lower on the BM12G than on one of the SmallHD options as they have certified red control software from what I can tell. Other choices I have seen are Atmos and Portkeys but neither seems to be great choices for a Komodo.

So, what are most people who are lucky enough to have a Komodo right now using?
