  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Extension Viewfinder

How much?

Why???????
Why?

Here's when I've needed and used EVF extension.

When handheld from the hip/thigh 11am with the sun at your back and you need an EVF and being haunched over the camera will kill your back after a while not to mention affecting your operating.

Also, when shooting on a dolly with an offset arm out front to clear track at the end of tilt down push in move.

It's one of those pieces of kit that "when you need it, you really need it."

Seriously!!!

Seriously!!!

This is an EVF: You can put it anywhere you want- only limited by the cable.
You can put it 10 feet away from the camera. That's the point of EVF.
The unit pictured has the Red EVF on top of the extension- may as well be on a stick- would not have made a bit of difference.
Extension VFs are for optical systems where you have to relay the image optically from GG to way back . I thought we were past this with the EVFs- Apparently habits are more powerful than common sense....

What about this one? This was the earlier version,
and new version what I using right now

Hi Perry

What is the brand of it?

The classic film camera VF extension keeps the eyepiece in a level position as the camera tilts. Hard mounting the VF to the back of the camera means I have to keep my left hand on the VF to compensate as the camera tilts.

C-stand mount?

C-stand mount?

You can stick it on a mini pin c stand next to the camera:wink5:

ET Extension Viewfinder with Eyepiece leveler is one of the most useful accessories I have bought for my Red. It saves your back from an ergonomic standpoint and if you would have ever tried to do a sizable tilt with one Jacek, you would know why every operator needs one.
