Hey guys, I'm using the Tilta cage on my Raptor and looking to use the run/stop from the nucleus motor. This was possible on DSMC2 using the CTRL port, and now using the cage and the ext port it should be possible on the Raptor, but I'm not seeing any communication controls in the menu to communicate with the run/stop. Anyone know the protocol for this? Thanks.

V-Raptor and Komodo work on a new communication protocol called RCP2. DSMC1/2 use RCP1.
This means RCP1 based devices cannot communicate with RCP2 devices it works very differently and either need to be updated or run through a translator which it seems Ignite Digi are coming out with soon.

Quickest solution is to R/S via 3-Pin Fischer, you'll just need the 3-Pin Fischer cable from your motor to the R/S on the Adapter you have which Tilta sell.

Are you able to explain, why this worked just fine in past firmware builds?

Which cable are you using? They have a few offerings I can see on their site.

They have DSMC1(sync port), DSMC2(ctrl port), DSMC2 SYNC port cables and a Komodo cable (EXT Port). The DSMC1 and DSMC2 cables wouldn't work.

I don't have a Tilta unit to test but the Komodo cable should work, I don't know how they've wired it but I'm guessing it's just doing trigger and no other control vs doing any sort of RCP control. Is this the cable you are using?

I was using the DSMC2 (cartel port) cable, which also fits the DSMC3 Tilta cage crtl port. So this R/S via 3-Pin Fischer cable will fit the exact same ports, but it's just wired differently?

It's not so much to do with the cable as it is to do with what Communication Protocol the device is speaking.

The Nucleus is speaking RCP1 (DSMC2 language) and not RCP2 (Komodo and V-Raptor Language). Unless Tilta have put out an update that is... the solution I know a few people are using is to use a 3-Pin Fischer cable plugged into the 3-Pin port on the Tilta plate.
Best thing to do to be sure would be to speak with Tilta as they make both of the devices.
