Not sure if this is isolated with myself or already been brought to everyones attention but I am seeing reports that the express slot on a MB pro does not work after the Snow Leopard update. My 15inch MB pro express slot stopped working the moment I installed, I am running a griffen tech express sata card.

Thought I would warn.

Best

The Sil3132 Drivers are not ready for Snow Leopard. Other Express cards probably work. Just not Sata Silicon Image 3132 Cards.

Interesting. I have tried two different kinds of sata cards with no luck. I will keep playing with it but I suspect a firmware update is coming soon.

Most esata cards have the same 3112 SI chip. There seems to be a JMicron alternative which works natively, but I don't know about its performance/compatibility. Does it support port multipliers?

Also, it seems I'm not alone at getting consistent Kernel Panics when trying to upgrade to 4Gb RAM in Leopard. Other users of the current driver have also experienced the same.

So let's hope Silicon Image and maybe Apple collaborate to help us poor MBP expresscard users, whom everyone seems to want to forget about.

Griffin ExpressCard/34 on 17" MBP running Snow Leopard that has eSata connected to Lacie XL 1TB Rugged drive works perfect.
