I am filming a feature on the Epic M, the last two days I have notice an issue with the exposure
When I set my camera at the exposure I want then review the image back on my DIT station which has a sony OLED monitor then on the TV logic monitor which is mounted to the camera and the Red monitor all exposure look great but when I play back a take I am over expose by two to Three stops ! I have been filming for three weeks now and never experience any issues with the camera at all
Can someone explain this

thanks

So you mean your exposure when shooting and when played back change?

What monitoring color space are you in, RAW? REDColor3? Gamma space?

Almost seems like you are monitoring shooting in RAW and playback in REDcolor or something.

Please clarify.

It's because they just reduced the price of the camera, thus lowering its capabilities and reliability. (LOL - sorry, I couldn't resist. No disrespect for your dilemma intended.)

LOL, give it a rest Terry.

Just for the record - I am totally OK with the price drop (as I've posted elsewhere). So, my comment was meant to be sarcastic in a light-hearted way. I thought it ironic that this gentleman's camera would start acting up just after it was "worth less."

im OK too..but i dont think you could be OK if you are 3-4 Epic owner ;) Face it accept the reality Terry..its not that hard

That's interesting. On my last shoot I did the same thing, except I was underexposed by at least 2 stops. I ended up just looking at the histogram goal posts and ignoring what looked good in the monitor.

I have the same underexposure issue. Happened on a feature I just shot. Image on monitor 2 stops over image in Redcine. Even on set I noticed it cus the monitor didn't remotely match my meter readings or histogram. This is a NEW issue, since I updated to the very last firmware.

I would double check on your touchscreen or your evf.... on the bottom of the screen, to the right of the histogram area, you should have a 3 x 3 grid of grey options. If in the first column, 2nd row the word "OFF" is a yellow color it would mean that you are viewing in "RAW". When you play back, the camera will play back from the metadata... So while you are recording a clip, the metadata is actually putting 800 as the ISO (or to the ISO that you've dialed in), and this number is reflected on your image while you play back. Thus can show a difference in exposure between what your seeing live, and what your seeing during playback. But it's all metadata, so you can change your ISO level in RC-X to match the exposure that you had set during the live view.
