Can anyone assist me in exporting Dragon footage out of premier pro for DaVinci.

Is there an export option for RedLogFilm/Dragon color? & Is there an option for "enhanced blacks"?

My director is editing this and I'm trying to help him figure out the export.

Thanks for any advice.

Does the Colorist need to work off of rendered media? We typically just export an XML from Premiere and import it into Resolve, setting up the project os that every clip is defaulted to FedLogFilm if that's your bag.

If he needs to export the project to another drive, you can also do that using the original media from Premiere and just tell it to only duplicate used media when you are duplicating the project. It's a super easy workflow.

Thanks! Yes he will be exporting to a drive to hand off to me. So is "duplicating used media" in the Settings drop down? Also, is there a "default to RedLogFilm" setting that he should be
aware of?

In Premiere go to File>Project Manager. When you have the Project manager window open, select the timeline(s) that you would like to copy, select 'collect files and copy to a new location' to duplicate the original media, check 'exclude unused clips' to make sure you aren't duplicating media that wasn't used in the selected timelines, and select your destination drive/folder for the project and hit 'OK'.

It will take some time to move everything over. Once the process is complete - close out of your project in premiere and open the new project from your selected destination. Once that launches make sure it looks good and that all media contained in the selected timelines have transferred. If all looks good go to File>Export>Final Cut Pro XML. Save the XML file to a folder with the duplicated project on your destination drive and it should be good to hand off. Now your colorist has all of the used original media to work off of and the Premiere project file just in case something was corrupt wit the XML file.

Once in Resolve go to your Project Settings>Camera Raw>RED and change the 'Decode Using" selection box to 'Project'. Once that is done you can globally select the way Resolve responds to the RED metadata. I would suggest selecting the 'use camera metadata' checkboxes for ISO, EXPOSURE, and COLOR TEMP, so that you maintain some of the DoP's intended look before diving in. Make sure you change the 'Color Science', 'Color Space', and 'Gamma Curve' settings to your desired settings. The 'Gamma Curve' box is where you will select RedLogFilm. All of these values can be changed individually per clip in the 'Color' room clip settings.

That's it! You're ready to bend and break that footage any way your eager color obsessed fingers desire!

Excellent. Does this workflow also work for exporting 2k Prores out of Primier.

You are able to transcode while exporting, but it won't be in RLF. You'll need to change the metadat to all of the clips in premiere to do that.
