Hi Everyone,

I have a bunch of files which have different pixel sizes ( 5k, 4k , etc , etc) When I export them I want to export each file by x/4 or x/2. But so far ı could not succeed.
Actually What I am trying to achieve is to create proxy files which are x/4 in size of the original so that I can then replace them with the original r3d files.
If I select the preset sizes and then export; import these files as proxy files in after effects there is an aspect ratio difference between them.

Has anybody experienced such a problem of have an other suggestion.

Thanks,

Hi Koray,

Not sure I'm following you. If you want Proxies select "Quicktime Wrapper" in your export preset. Under Setup choose "M" as the wrapper type. Then you'll get quarter sized proxy files when you export.

Hi David Thank you for your reply...

In short what I need is:
Lets say I have a r3d files which is 5120 x 2700 and I want to export it as a prores 1280x675
and again r3d file which is 4096x2160 and agin want to export it as prores 1024x540
Actually I want to export all different sized r3d files as 1/4.

The reason why I want to do is all these r3d's have tracking markers and to track them in real size
ıs almost impossible in after effects. So I will track the 1/4 prores files get the track data and use
them with the originals.

When I export them as Quicktime Wrappers with M option selected, after effects gives me the following error:
After Effects Error: file 'xxxxxxxxxxxx.mov' can not be imported --
this 'MooV' file is damaged or unsupported.

I am a Mac user, I have all epic importers setup and working.

Thnaks,

Ah ok,

Yeah the only way you could do that right now is to set up an export preset specific to each resolution clip you have.

Also I should have mentioned previously: RCX generated wrappers won't work with Epic clips at this time. But in general
you have to have the RED quicktime codec installed for RED ONE wrappers to work. (red.com/support, RED Final Cut Studio 3 installer).
