I need help with exporting to REDCINE to Adobe Premiere Pro, please.

I was trying to use TIF file sequences but APPro V3.0 still doesn’t recognize 16 bit TIF files.

I rushed to buy APPro 3.0 once I red that it supports now 16 and 32 color depth but they conveniently forgot to mention that it is only with PSD files.

Any other way to export from REDCINE to Premiere Pro via different path?

Got After Effects ? Sorry shitty workflow but still ...

Cineform's Prospect might be a better option
oohhh, look here http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=6469

I am getting mutualy exclusive statements there:

If your project is setup for 4k, then yes, any 4k file (including a DPX) is supported.

and

Also DPX files are not supported by Premiere CS3, only AE.

Sorry about that, was only commenting on the extra step to go out from AE to Premiere - which is probably not what you want to do but may have to, seeing as tiff and dpx are not an option in Premiere.

Actually I got 16bit TIFF to work as long as it was 1080p sized. It wouldn't import the 4K versions.

I can't believe DPX isn't supported either!

Yes, I was shocked that DPX is not supported.
Also what I discovered this morning is, that if you want to output from Premiere the QT file, the highest horizontal pixel count is 2000! If it would be 2048 for next 6 month I could stand it but 2000!

I guess Adobe is so preoccupied with HD only that they forgot about the film all together.

I like the ON Location though.
OnLocation will take AVI out of Premiere, nice monitoring tool.

I took Jim’s race track clip converted to 4K TIFs sequence at 8 bit out from REDCINE, Imported to Premiere add some second color correction and sharpening and the softness is gone. (I use 75 in settings)
The good thing about RED RAW is, that sharpening works much better on it then on DLSR RAW.

More I think about it more I see the SCRATCH is the way to go.
If only they have junior version, say one that will not output more than 2K (2048) but it will take 4K in.
All other features the same.
Also will run on couple of recommended systems instead of buying hardware from them.

The 2K is a QT limitation, not Adobe. OpenExr is supported in AE, have you tried exporting that way? AE will also read qt codecs higher than 8bit.

You might consider cineform neo, which solves all the listed problems.

Although Scratch is the best solution right now for Red material, you can export from Redcine and edit in AE up to 4k. You need Cineform for this.

For Premiere you want the Prospect product as it has serious acceleration for Premiere. I was able to play back 4k (it actually converts to 1k in real-time) material in realtime on my PC. There are 2k and 4k versions, the 4k version can also do any other lower resolution.

It works beautifully. I've used it successfully with Red originated material (though I use Scratch, not Redcine - but anything that will transcode to cineform AVI).

Thank you all, woooow I got dizzy, NEO 4K, Prospect, what the difference?

I spent some time reading on Cineform web and I still cannot figure out what to buy.

If I buy Prospect 4K do I need NEO 4K for something?
Is there any video of using these utilities?

I don't see in REDCINE CineForm HD/2K/4K choice in Output Setting to export from REDCINE to Premiere.

Was it disabled in build 82 till NAB or it is visible only in Mac verssion of REDCINE?

CineForm NEO 4K is our 4K+ 422, 444 and RAW encoding license and conversion tools. (Mac and PC.)

CineForm Prospect 4K, includes NEO 4K completely and adds tight Premiere Pro integration and acceleration. (Windows only).

If you are using PPro on PC and intended to post in 2 or 4K, you will want to use Prospect 4K. If you only need a fast and flexible compression solution NEO 4K will work for you.

While all these are available now, and will be demonstrated at HD Expo and than NAB, we can't ship the full R3D support until Red release their SDK, which has been mentioned to be NAB time frame.
