I needed to take a break from a current for-fun project (Psycho scene re-envisioned) to get a fresh
perspective and decided to work on a quick short that was a project due for a friends film school class.
They had the idea of what happens when TV and Phones suddenly just stop working. I adapted the idea and
turned it into an experimental narrative exploring the side effects of technology and marketing on relationships.
I shot this on two school/student supplied cameras: an old Bolex 16mm (not super) and a older DSLR(550D I think).
I wanted to test myself at inter-cutting mixed source footage and didn't want to lug my heavy RED gear around for free.
I also supplied and adapted some old Zeiss Jena DDR glass to fit the EOS and C mounts of the cameras.
Below is the edit I put together of the acquired footage from the 5 hour shoot. (they made their own edit for class).
Maybe some of you may enjoy checking it out, it's very... odd... but somehow I find myself watching it over and over.
