I'm a newbie, so some help is very much appreciated. Can someone please post an example of the maximum DOF we will be able to achieve with the fixed lens Scarlet? I believe that would be any grab of film shot on 16mm at F2.4 - or I think someone said that 35mm equivalent would be F5.6.

Not that DOF is everything, but I'm leaning more towards the fixed Scarlet, but now debating whether it would be better to go with Scarlet cinema and finding faster glass to put in front of it.

Do you mean 'minimum' DOF, as in shallow?

If you go over to ScarletUser it has been talked about quite a lot in the past to say the least...especially before November announcement. I'm sure there was a few grabs posted.

I'll have a search and see if I can find any...

FYI though I did post a comprehensive list of films that used 2/3" as standard...although a lot of these would have used fast and rather expensive lenses needless to say...

Thanks for the reply Tim - I did mean minimum DOF, just a bit of a brain-fart. I've been over to ScarletUser, and didn't find anything - then again, I haven't been there for a while so maybe I'll mosey on over there.

Thanks for the list - I was aware of these films, however, as you said most would probably been able to utilize faster and much more expensive lenses. I'm not familiar with working with 16mm or 2/3 so I'm just looking for an idea of the shallowest achievable DOF.

Thanks again for the reply.

Matthew
