Hello!

I just received my EVF today. Everything looks and works great. Except for one little thing. The rotary knob seems really loose. Almost seems like its about to fall off. Just wanted to see if other EVF owners out there have found the same issue? Is this just normal, or something to be concerned about.

Cheers!

Well mine feels loose too, from new. I think it's just like that!

It´s like that, mine´s been like that since day one, still works.

with a really tiny allen key you can screw the knop more stable...äh?..weirdo english, hope you got it.

edit: i made a mistake...i thought you are talking baout the joystick at the rear of the body...was too fast reading

Hi Trilabite,

I don’t recommend that you open the EVF because you will void the warranty, but if this does become a problem please contact RED for a support ticket and we will bring in the EVF for evaluation and repair.
If you could PM me your customer info and I will make sure we log this in your account.

Regards,

It's not a bug, it's a feature!

The EVF knob both rotates and pushes in to select a function. So it's loose by design as it needs to be to operate that way.

If you can't see it, go into setup preferences and show the EVF menus, then you will see what I mean.

However, that knob does seem a little vulnerable to knocks and I just got an Element Technica guard for it. It is really neat and does the job of protecting all the EVF buttons perfectly. I thoroughly recommend it.

Thanks again guys! Yes I think I'll leave it be. It does seem to work fine. I went and ordered the Element Technica guard as an added safety measure. Also thanks Michael for offering to note this. I'll send you my info right away.

Cheers all!
