I just noticed that the lemo connector on the EVF is loose and rotates a bit. I talked to RED and they have given me a return option and everything, but my fear is that they will turn around and say that is normal. So... is it normal? I am not suggesting they are gonna rip me off. I am just worried that i am sending it away for no reason and I will end up paying 500 for them to look at it. So this is more a question for RED as I never heard back other than just getting a "we'll check it out" is it common for it to be loose just a bit? also would i be able to simply open the back and fix it with out voiding the warranty? If it was no longer under warranty this would be a no brainer as I have no fear of opening things up and fixing them myself. I just am afraid to open it and find out it is a bigger problem, then not be able to get it fixed. What holds the connector tight inside? I only have a month or so left on my warranty anyway. the wires are all connected fine and the EVF works fine. just a little sloppy. if i open it will i find a bolt that just needs to be tightened a bit?
thanks for your help. I won't even try to blame 20.1.3!

Was it like that since you got it or is the looseness a new thing? Mine is rock solid, as if it were part of the housing and not a connector at all.

I suppose the question is whether this is an assembly fault or normal wear-and-tear on the fitting. Maybe have that discussion with Red in advance.

If it was like that from the start, I'm sure they will be happy to correct it under warranty. Wear and tear, possibly not.

Best of luck,

Jim

Hi Ian,

If you would email me at RMA-at-red.com I would be happy to set up a RMA for the EVF to come into RED for service, we can defiantly address this issue.

Thanks Micheal,

I have already got one. I believe it was rock solid when I got it. I just would rather not send it away if i can help it. if it's just a matter of tightening a nut on the inside of the back, I don't mind doing it myself. i just want to know what i would be looking at if i opened it so i dont get a surprise and find out i can't tighten it on my own.

Ian, I would recommend sending it in here for tightening. It is not a simple procedure.

I just got a phone call from fed ex saying it was on its way back. Thanks For the help, you guys are awesome.
