  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EVF is double-mirroring my image at 1/10 opacity.. WTF?

I've noticed this issue since I took delivery of my EVF back in May/June. I notice it more in low light situations, but basically my EVF is showing a double image that is upside down & flopped. It's at a very low opacity so it doesn't bother the image in bright scenes. It's still very annoying being a professional piece of equipment costing more than a DVX100.

I also notice an issue with the EVF, where if the light levels are drastically changing in my scene, the contrast of my 'black menu space' goes up and down rapidly, which is also really annoying. The contrast of the menu text and the black bars flutter..

Anyone else have this issue? I've seen it on every build, even after black shade, and it doesn't record onto the image since I am seeing menu text upside down as well..

I did submit a ticket Martin. It's something that I've always noticed about my EVF, thinking all EVFs suffered this issue. Lately, I think the effect has become worse, thus my rant..

Sounds like a problem with the optics in the EVF - I've seen ghosting like this occasionally in ours but never so bad I couldn't work with it. Does it improve with variation in the position of your eye?

Try turning off DARK DETAIL; or adjusting its level.

I've noticed a similar effect. Not fluttering as such, but a step change in EVF black level as you pan from a brighter to a darker area of the scene. If you turn 'dark detail' off in the menus it does not happen.
