Hi all

I recently picked up my new EVF and very excited to use it... but I noticed that if you are viewing with the EVF and select 1:1 for focusing and then deselect it, on my EVF the image splits (never in the same patter). Am I doing something wrong or is this something that I should mention to my bomb squad? Has anyone else experienced this?

Below is a photo of the problem, please ignore the colour as it distorted by the camera I used to take the photo. As you can see, the image has split and I am getting a tile effect. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

We are also having the same problem , we have to restart the camera then only it fix up....

We also see this randomly in both the EVF and the LCD. File a ticket with support so they know.

i get this as well on the 5" monitor on the side, i unplug the monitor and replug...problem solved but still a bug

Cheers, it is good to know that others are experienceing the same issue. I also have a bit of a prob when I unplug the LCD and move the cable over to the EVF. It sometimes causes a stall in the image and so I am now having to power down each time I want to use a different option.

Just shot 2 days on our new EPIC X with Bomb EVF. Happened once. Reboot to fix.

Seems like a lot of people are having this issue and a reboot everytime is not the 'ideal' thing...especially if you have clients over your shoulder. Are RED aware of this bug, I can't imagine they don't know about it?

Also, the cable that comes with the EVF is different to the standard cable (weaved thread) that shipped with the Epic package. The EVF has a small inbuilt box on the cable (looks like an adapter of some sorts). So is it possible that the LCD is not happy with this new cable? Could this be causing any issues? I am not saying that it doesnt happen with the earlier cables, but it does seem to happen less. When I move the new cable from the EVF to the LCD, I just get a black screen on the LCD...but not when using the tread cable. :S

Any thoughts? Cheers.

Hey Neil, when you get a black screen, is there a timecode overlay as well or black screen only? When I have this problem there's timecode only over a black screen. Unplug/replug brings picture back, but left edge of frame guide missing. Reboot brings back normal picture.

Hi Paul

Yes, thats right, I get a timecode up with the black screen...but pulling the cable out and back in again sorts it. I am sure this could probably be fixed in a firmware update as it just seems like a bug.

Cheers,
Neil
